Wood Finishes

Some of the products we create are made from high quality plywoods instead of hardwood. These usually involve thin pieces which require the added strength of plywood (so they don't break along the grain) or products that require wood that is larger than typcally available in hardwood boards.

The plywood we use most frequently is faced in birch or maple, and can be stained in numerous colors and finishes. The samples below show the colors and finishes we currently offer on our non-hardwood products.

Please note that due to differences in trees, cuts, lighting, and the way monitors display colors, the samples below may not exactly match the actual wood color or grain pattern.

Wood Finish Stains

All of our products that we make from plywoods are offered in the following tints and stains which resemble certain hardwoods.

Colored Stains

For colored stains, we use W.D. Lockwood concentrated dyes which allow us to mix colors and control the saturation of the finish. These dyes soak deeply into the wood and enhance the grain while providing a rich, even color. The following are colored stains that we currently offer, though we may be able to make finishes darker or lighter as desired.
