Custom Tooled Leather Dyes

  • Black
  • Dark Brown
    Dark Brown
  • Light Brown

  • Oxblood

Please note that because these leathers are hand-dyed, the finish may have visible dye patterns such as streaks, tint variations, or variegation. These unique variations from the dying process will be more visible on lighter colors.

Where We Get Our Leather

The leather that we use comes from an Italian tannery that supplies leather to many industries across the globe. The tannery focuses on quality, sustainability, and environmental responsibility, as well as the care and safety of their employees. This is a huge factor for us in sourcing materials for our products and we are thrilled to be able to offer this leather in our products.

Tooling Leather

Some of the products we offer require a thicker vegetable tanned leather that can be hand tooled and custom dyed. Since the products we offer with custom tooled leather are limited, we don't do enough quantity to work with a single tannery. We get our tooling leather from various suppliers as needed with an eye to quality hides sourced from reputable tanneries such as Horween or Hermann Oak.

Synthetic Leather (Faux, Pleather, Vegan)

We apologize to our vegan/vegetarian customers, but we do not offer a synthetic leather option for our products. There are numerous reasons for this, but the main reasons are:

  • Quality is inconsistent and synthetic leather often fails where real leather will last for many years.
  • Synthetic leather is usually made from polyurethane, which is not biodegradable or recyclable.
  • The solvents used in making synthetic leather are often highly toxic and dangerous to the environment.
  • There are fewer regulations on the manufacture of synthetic leather than there are for genuine leather.

Given these reasons, we do not believe that synthetic leather is an environmentally responsible option to genuine leather. If you do know of a provider of synthetic leather that can match the quality, consistency, and environmental responsibility of our genuine leather suppliers, please send us their information.
